Problem: faltering, stuttering recordings [Solved!]

I had a strange problem whith recordings on my vuplus box. I searched the internet on scrambled, stutter, haperende etc....but found no solution to the problem. For those who encounter the same problem....a description of, and a solution to, the problem:

The problem:
When playing back a recorded program, the playback suffered from faltering stuttered playback. I copied the file to my PC and when I played it on my PC the same problem persists....So it is a recording issue. I Connected a USB disk, and then recorded a program. Still the same problem.

I installed blackhole, OpenPLI, and original image of vuplus 3.0. Still the same problem. But when I installed an old original 1.6 image of vuplus, the problem did not occur.

I installed the latest firmware(FPGA TS_PRO.dat). The terms firmware and image are quite often confused. But this offered no solution.

The Solution:
Eventually, I logged in the vu+ box. Something I should have done much earlier. Checked the load on the box with 'top' and noticed that when a recording was started, the load rises very quickly. The process that gave the load was mount.ntfs-3g.
Checked my USB disk, which I had previously used to test whether it was a harddisk problem. And this turned out to also be formatted with NTFS.

So I formatted the hdd with ext4 and the problem was solved. Guess it's a ntfs driver issue.

Hope this helps people suffering the same problem.

NTFS filesystem into Linux world should not be used due to performance issues like ones you have been tested directly on your hardware.
We can do nothing about that because the NTFS support is a piece of software who permit to talk two very different worlds like Linux and Microsoft.
