The USB drivers for WinTV Ministick have not worked for either 1.7.5 or 1.7.6 releases. The device is seen correctly as a winTV ministick but is reported as being a DVB-S device.

Downgrading to 1.7.2 for the three relevant files by copying SMSUSB files to /tmp and issuing 'ipkg install --force-downgrade <path><filename>' for all three files worked for me to - thanks to sakisdvb.

It is amazing this error has gone uncorrected over two releases.

SAT is our hobby - don't primary work.
I'm very busy with my work and time for SAT scene is very limited.
In my TODO list the SMSUSB driver is in top position.

The success of the downgrade was reported prematurely. It does allow the DVB-T usb device to work but appears to stop the epg.dat file being read from my hard drive. I went back to 1.7.6 and epg.dat was read and programmes listed. Again downgrading to 1.7.2 for the three files already listed re-introduced no epg data being displayed.

@angelofsky1980 - Life has a habit of getting in the way of good intentions. I guess you are seen as the person to go to for programming USB-Tuners. But if, in reality the demands have become too much, the community may benefit from a vacancy - later to be filled by someone else wanting to put the experience on their CV.

- My VU+ UNO Receiver Read epg.dat fine after downgrade.
I Use Blue-Red button and download preferred epg.
Default location for epg.dat is my external USB/Hdd (I don't have internal Hdd)

- An issue i have is the "tuner.log" is not created.
I will try to put old "tuner.log" file from previous backup and see if it updates.

- Also when using PIP with DVB-T SD channel in PIP window,
video in PIP window is like stop-motion (1-2 fps).
This is probably SMSUSB driver issue.
This occurs with all 1.7.x images.
Older Images (1.6.x) work great with PIP and DVB-T SMSUSB Tuner.
Regards.

Thanks for that.

I'm using a Duo and an internal hdd. Tried the blue/red combo and it appeared to download. Tried manual download and unpacking epg.dat to correct place. Result; no programme listings. Just tried going back to 1.7.4 but it is just so buggy everywhere.

May go to PLi or some other image whilst waiting for the professionalism of old to return to BlackHole.

Dear croques

I am sorry to see this "Trick" is not helping you.
I assume you used .ipk for Duo not Uno.
Image 1.7.3 is excellent and most stable,( supports 100% ReDi Pc100) but lacks All new features.
I believe Dear Friend Angelofsky1980 will fix issue in next image releases. He always delivers (sooner or later). :victory:
