@All please don't ask here about emulators and softcams because are not supported and you will be banned.
You know that osc is open source so there is not problem to compile it for PrismCube but you will never have here support about this.
I am sorry that i cannot provide more accurate informations but becuase the base system is Linux it will be for sure possible to add external hdd of any kind of size and filesystem.
I am not sure if the box will come with and internal hdd dedicated to the system and the details was about it.
We have to wait to know. But this wait will be not too long
What´s the big deal anyway ? Just bought A Vu+ Ultimo and I aint in no way investing in another STB. There came Solo2 and now the hype is on Prism Cube. Now I am not gonna run my mouth on something I don´t know but rest assured that I aint buying it. Always something new gonna come up just like the Cell phone bizness . Y´all go ahead and buy it but I respectfully pass

If the unit you have already does all you want it to why buy another one. My ultimo does all I want, so I am not looking for another STB. But hope VU+ does'nt go down the road of not supporting there older STB's trying to to force you to buy there latest model
Nobody here is thinking that we have all to buy PrismCube.
I think it is better to explain again.
First of all PrismCube is not on Vu+ boxes product line.
The Vu+ boxes are diiferent products running enigma2 and are going to be the powerful products in the market. Who wants to have the maximum performances can buy Solo2 and soon Duo2, but all the main enigma2 functions and updates are available for all the boxes. Old boxes are fully supported.
PrismCube a totally new box (entry level) different from Vu+ boxes and will be under Marusys line.
The difference with Vu+ boxes is that PrismCube is not only a set-top-box but it is togheter a media-center (Xbmc) + a set-top-box.
But we have not Xbmc + enigma2. PrismCube will be not run enigma2 or 3.
The set-top-box part in PrismCube is incorporated in Xbmc. There is a complete fusion of Xbmc and Tv.
I can assure that this integration is really perfect and the box is easy-to-use.
But like enigma2 at the beginning (7025) here we have nothing. The story have to be written.
The stab plugins, the epg systems, the cannels lists... all is new and different.
Yes we are not starting from zer because we will have available all Xbmc and all the world of Xbmc plugins.
But about sat pvr ecc.. you have to remember that thi is not enigma2 but is a new world.
So it is absolutely untrue that you have to buy a new box because the Vu+ are old and Vuplus want that you buy something that you aready have.
On the contrary, people have to think and remember that this is not a new Vu+ e2 box.
This is another story.

In fact the support for excisting boxes always has been excellent from VU+ which I cant say always about other brands. You may even get brandnew functionality on several years old boxes like HbbTV. Who offers that these days? A good reason for me to stay with VU+ as a brand.
I am looking for a single box acting both as STB and Media Player combined. First had my hope on Solo2 => Duo2 but this seems to bring only a much faster STB, which is nice but not a reason for me to replace my good old Uno. PrismCube could be what I am looking for? I am sure there are more people looking at the same combined functionality which PrismCube seems to be designed for specifically. Fingers crossed on the HW details, practical performance and how well the STB functionality works. What XBMC has to offer is well known (running a Windows version).
I would love pluggable tuner support for it, but that will probably come with a next high-end version?
