External USB Attach external HDD that contains data already

Dear forum,
I purchased VU+ Solo2 receiver and installed latest BH image.
I already have 2TB USB harddrive which I used for a while (and hence contains a lot of data on it).
After plugging in to receiver, harddrive is automounted as this:
/dev/sda1 1950593700 1258201328 692392372 65% /autofs/sda1

Which is all ok.
My question is, how to set BH to be able to record movies without initialization of HD?
To my understanding, initialization wipes all data from HDD which I do not want to happen.
