Off course,You are in right !
But these benefits (skins) the entire community and is good to have an ear for them, it is my opinion.
When things are functioning in question(graphic,coding...) would always give priority to the beta testers and team but when it comes to looks to be wide and listen to the whole community. Skins are for that peoples,they use it.

For me,every options from my friend Matrix is OK, I like to suggest him and to actively participate in the improvement of his masterpieces
