Or at least upload an crashlog so we can have a look at whats going on. XC Plugin worrks just fine with BH Image 3.0.9

The problem is this: I run the plugin and press the settings button (green button) to enter the server information box does not appear.

First, Thanks for the nice work. Installed it on my Solo2 and looks great.
My request is, I don't seem to find a way to discard the channel numbers in the menu. I have managed to show the picons but wanted to leave out the numbers....is such thing possible in BH? cheers.

Regarding TSmedia and crash with blackhole 3.0.9
No error reported with same TSmedia code and blackhole 3.0.8
i did not read the error details but i noticed that backhole 3.0.9 still has old version of twisted web 13.0.0 which may be related to the client error in the log

to repeat here in our forum my observations and test with Duo 4K and images.

Thanks for the effort.

The problem is that Downloader.py
is unchanged is the same in Black Hole 3.0.6 / BH 3.0.8 / BH 3.0.9 (4K image)
And it is the same in VU + the original image and file.
(4K box)

I know plugin download works if I use Downloader.py
from Open Black Hole image.
This is not the case with the original VU + file, so not just the BH image.

Which means we have to change the original file to satisfy
and prevent error.
I'm not a coder and I do not know if this problem which is already present in the original VU + coding very long.
I looked at VU + orginal image from 2018 and that file is the same,and of course present in BH images.
I do not know if the BH coder wants to change it.
I'll ask our coder @Shiro .

But it is evident that we have more and more problems
due to differences in OE-A and PLI-based images on one side
and VU + based images.

For those who want to test on 4 K boxes
can use this file from the Open Black Hole image.
I did not test on older box but it is probably the same.

replace Downloader.py in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Tools/
reboot and test

downloader.py It is the same in 4K images BH 3.0.8 and BH 3.0.9 and VU+ coding.

Twisted web is replaced as I know
because it has created a problem with some important plugins.

It is probably a problem now.

also it is strange that blackhole still hold old version of twisted web 13.0 while other images like openatv,openpli includes twisted web version 16 and 17 and even dreambox image built with dreamos include version 14.
It is not matter of version numbers only but old versions of twisted web has a lot of problems and one these drawback when threading used and twisted web reactor never works to exit thread as other images

Yes this is because bh is based on Vu+ git and Vu+ Oe is too much old. We are waiting for a OE upgrade by Vu to not break compatibility

Obviously BH is lagging behind other images by miles , would be nice if it is developed based on OE-A ...

That is why there is an Open Black Hole image.
The problem is not in Black Hole but in VU + image
and coding.
We can not undo coding and lose connection with VU + base.

And to be honest Yes BH (OI 3.0) might be behind with some core compononets but this also makes BH the most stable image out there.
And since i am a hobby plugin coder i love the strict BH image to use as my base when writing, Because when it works with BH it also works with the other popular images.

And i know several hobby coders, and after som schooling from this old guy

they start to more and more se my point.
Yes use what ever image you want but today we have multiboot options in all image so as a developer take advantage of this and
install a copy of BH then write your code in what ever platform preferd but use BH as the backbone and none of the named issues will be a problem.

And i also want to point out that BH have a very dedicated and competent coder Team that do a marveless work with the image.

And as matrix is writing, You allways have the option to choose OBH if you want a OE Alliance core only.

OBH is good , but it lacks certain functions, Like Teleportation, integrated EPG and System info Gauge screen.. If these are added to OBH, it would be PERFECT image

as plugin coder always finally before publishing my plugin i tested with blackhole and nearly always errors not seen in by other images but as thomas67 said this is not bad and if the plugin passed the balckhole test then relaxed it will be ok in other images.
