Dead Vu+ Solo2

Hi! Same problem with new Solo2 box (just two months old) here. Worked fine with original image, worked fine for a week with blackhole 2.0.2 image - then picture freeze - black screen - no more rebooting or searching for usb stick. just network leds are on and front sensor touch on. :-(

Contact your reseller: it's not normal
 
Hello, I got the same problem yesterday...I uploaded a video here (sorry for the bad quality):


The power button is ON and off 1 second after I switched it on. The ethernet port is blinking but the VFD display never turns on. I disconnected everything (internal HDD, USB ports, etc...) I tried another AC adapter with the same volts and amps but it didn't work, I got the same problem. I tried to flash it with an image in the USB port but it didn't work. I tried with Vu+ Util (2.0.1 version and an older one too) and RS232 but there's no support for this receiver (Solo2), which is incredible...I am desperated because I bought it only four months ago. Although it's still in warranty I bought here, in Spain, in a website which is in a city which is more than one thousand km. far away from my city. I contacted the shop yesterday by telephone and they want I pay the shipment costs from me to their shop and viceversa (from their shop to me), double cost. The told me also I have to wait until one month because the official repair service is in holidays now (august month). That's my story...I'm desperated.

I HAVE TRIED ALL THE INSTRUCTION ABOUT FORMATTING FAT32 USB AND ALL ORIGINAL IMAGES, DIFFERENT USB STICKS BUT I HAVE THE SAME RESULTS... ANY HELP?

First of all don't write in uppercause. Into forums uppercase text mean an high voice and it's not a good thing.
About your problem, check carefully if you have a folder called "vuplus" in your HDD (if present) and rename it.
Disconnect also ALL storage devices before flash another image, HDD included to avoid problems.

Hi, I received the receiver from the supplier last September the 5th for free (under warranty and no ship cost) in my home and now it works perfect. It's a pity that's there's no still RS232/COM/serial support for VU+ Solo2 nowadays (at least for public access). I hope I won't have the same problem again... See you next time and thank you.

Well, just because only 2 people on this form have written about it, I wouldn't conclude anything. My brand new box has just displayed the same symptoms after 3 week's use. I came to this forum to see if others have had the same problem. From what I have seen it is likely to be a hardware fault and I have to send mine back to supplier to fix under warranty.

There is now plenty of this being spoken about on boards and 99% are clones of which we have no interest and do not support. Sorry.

I have the same problem with my 3 week old Solo2. When I turn on the power switch there is nothing on the display, no fan running, no flash from USB. The only thing that is lit is the touch power button on the front, but pressing it has no effect. Have tried all suggestions including removing HDD and all connections, but no luck. Seems like a hardware issue, so sending it back to supplier for repair.

It's original one or clone?
 
Help please, I have same problem with my 2 months old vu+ solo2 it was working fine on BH 2.0.9 until I switched it off for change the place for my box after I place my box at new place I switched it on but only standby light came on, I pressed standby switch its brightened and then nothing no display on front of box and no output to TV. I tried to reflash the box but box even doesn't see the USB. Now my box is dead only standby light.
I read in this thread to use vuutility but I dont have .NFI image file and don't know whare I can find it. Any help will appreciate. Thank you.
 
I have a strange feeling
that we become a forum for Clone boxes support and we did not.
We have no intention to support the Clone ,not in the past not now and not in the future.
We have no clone boxes and we do not test images on clone.

Read the forum rules and image license.
We support only original VU+ boxes.
If any of you have bought clone, contact your dealer.

If you have the original defective box, then the problem is even easier
contact the official dealer.

In fact if you can not make image flash over USB
Despite you tried with different USB sticks
then your box is clone or defective.

So I would ask you to check the originality of your box
before asking questions

can someone help, I've tried everything . The only think i don't find is how to flash through RS232

Hello. The problem is there's no public support for RS232 in Solo2 (you can use Vu+ Util in Solo, Uno, Ultimo and Duo but not in Solo2). i would contact your seller to repair your box. There's another option you can try if you want, which consists in reprograming your flash with a programmer or replacing it directly. This problem should be when your box has a blank VFD and it refuses to boot or flash. Good luck.
