Duo2 LCD display not working - kind of!

Yesterday I became the proud owner of a Duo2. I'm having lots of fun playing with my new toy but one thing is driving me crazy! I added a Seagate 4TB HDD (thanks @Shiro for the recommendation), I installed the latest BH image and all went seemingly well... apart from the LCD... It just wasn't working :(

I played with the LCD4Linux settings a little but all seemed to be correct. I trawled the forums and couldn't find any similar reports so thought I might have a faulty unit, I resigned myself to returning the unit however this morning the LCD display was working! *GREAT* I thought, until about 18:00 this evening when it just switched off! So, i checked the LCD4Linux settings again, all seem to me correct, the ON>Backlight On/Off times are the same (the default of 06:00). The LCD4Linux web interface shows what *should* be on the screen (see screenshot).

So, I'm stumped as to what to do next... Has anybody else come across this behaviour before? I'm hoping that I'm just being an idiot and have missed a simple setting somewhere :)

I think you've just answered your own question - if it's working sometimes and you do not play with the settings that means faulty hardware doesn't it?
 
I know deep in my heart that's the case but it's so new and lovely and shiny... I don't want to part with it! Just clutching at straws in the hope that I won't have to send my new baby back! :'(
 
Try this one which is my LCD4linux configuration file and has been used with several BH versions on DUO2 without any known problem. It is also tested by another user in this community and no reported issue.
Before you test this config file, please make a backup, and create some folders for the picons and pictures (just a couple of pictures and picons is ok).
