Hello guys,

I can help you get the EPG and picon for IPTV channels if you are still interested.
I miss the picons and EPG on IPTV. I'm interested in having these on my IPTV and will highly appreciate any information so that I can have them on my IPTV.

Ok guys,

I have searched for a long time for a solution for IPTV EPG. I took off and installed a variety of programs and each time I had to install again my box (green screen, etc.). So I decided that I try to fix it without a program. Everything has to be done manually via the DCC (PC) or iDreamX (Mac). The first thing to do is find all channels via satellite that you want via IPTV. Go to root / etc / enigma2 and copy userbouquet.favorites.tv to Word or a program where you can edit the list. Open your IPTV m3u list in the new document. Then just copy and paste (it). Here's my example:
#SERVICE 1:0:16:124:3:40:A00000:0:0:0: ← (service: Nova Tv on Eutelsat 16E)

#SERVICE 1:0:16:124:3:40:A00000:0:0:0:http%3a//xxx.xxx-xxxxxx.xxxx%3a80/live/xxxxxxx/xxxxx/3.ts:Nova TV iptv
#DESCRIPTION Nova TV iptv
← (service: IPTV Nova Tv)

Each channel must be arranged separately. If you have picon on satellite service comes automatically to the IPTV service.
In the end, save the new list (userbouquet.favorites.tv) and send it back to the root / etc / enigma2. Restart the box again. If you have a good EPG or xmltv, then everything should be fine.

I hope I explained well and you'll make it all work out. If you need more detailed help contact me.

Hi !
Code:
(this tuto from http://www.satnigmo.com/2716/attach-epg-iptv-channels-openpli/)
How to attach EPG to IPTV channels

EPG for IPTV channels has been an common request for many years now but I simply abandoned this area because I havent been successful with attaching EPG to IPTV channels. Athoik from OpenPLi forum faced the same problem last year but as he has coding abilities he was able to fix the issue in OpenPLi. From the 20.12.2013 we can attach or append EPG to IPTV channels but this requires some manual work (also using FTP) and is not for complete E2 noobs.

Here is short tutorial for all who want to finally see EPG on your favourite IPTV channels which are getting more and more popular:

1. Create test.channels.xml file using Notepad++ and add this test content:

<channels>

1:0:1:E:10:1:FFFF0000:0:0:0:http%3a//example.com
<!– Planet TV –>
</channels>

http%3a//example.com part at the end is mandatory and you should not change it. XMLTVimport needs the http%3a// (whatever) just to start a fake recording and then to import EPG.

1:0:1:E:10:1:FFFF0000:0:0:0: is real channel reference for channel Planet TV on local DVB-C network. You can also use reference from channel on satellite (DVB-S/DVB-S2) or regular antenna (DVB-T/T2).

PlanetTV.sl is the real channel id which you can get if you open rytec.sources.xml file which is located in /etc/epgimport on your receiver. PlanetTV is part of Slovenian rytec package so you just need to check for Slovenian XMLTV (or any other country package, it depends on your needs) in rytec.sources.xml file and then copy one of the urls to your browser and download *.gz file where you can get all channel ids for selected country.

After you finish editing test.channels.xml file, copy it to etc/epgimport folder on your receiver.

2.Create test.sources.xml using Notepad++ and add this test content:
Code:

<sources>

Test XMLTV

</sources>

First you need to open rytec.sources.xml file and find section dedicated to your country. In my case I had to search for Slovenian rytec package. Then you need to copy this part and paste it in your new file named test.sources.xml. Here you need to change channels=”xxx” part. In my case I had to change it to test.channels.xml file which I created earlier. Also change description to something else, I just used name Test XMLTV.

After you finish editing test.sources.xml file, copy it to etc/epgimport folder and restart Enigma 2 – GUI.

3. Now you need to add this IPTV channel to Enigma 2. I already explained how to add IPTV channels to E2 bouquets in my older article which is located here:
Code:
http://www.satnigmo.com/?p=2681

In my case I had to add this channel:
Code:
#SERVICE 4097:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:rtsp%3a//origin.biokoda.tv/live/mbit-planet?k=planettv-public:planet TV
#DESCRIPTION Planet TV

This version does not work with EPG, I was forced to tweak it a bit:

#SERVICE 4097:0:1:E:10:1:FFFF0000:0:0:0:rtsp%3a//origin.biokoda.tv/live/mbit-planet?k=planettv-public:planet TV
#DESCRIPTION Planet TV

As you can see the only change are the letters and number after the 4097 part (the same applies to 1:0:1… channel reference). They need to match channel reference in test.channels.xml file.

4. Start EPG import in XMLTVimport plugin which might not be available for your favourite image. If you use OpenPLi, you can add it. EPG should appear or IPTV channels. If not, please write an message on Satnigmo forum, link is available below.

Go to iptv-epg dot com
Most european countries are covered and they are adding countries and channels continuously.

I have found a solution for Enigma2 and EPGImporter.
Load this source file http://epg.xtream-tv.rs/files/EIXtream.sources.zip (unzip first) and move it to the "/etc/epgimporter" folder.
In the settings, select only the "XTREAM" source (1648 channels).

However, the EPG ID must be from Rytec. Users of xtream-editor.com or customers of resellers using xtream-editor.com get the mapping automatically. Users of xtream-editor.ch (customer version) should manually adjust the EPG ID and download bouquets again.

For xtream-editor.com customers are there a plugin for the automatic download of the bouquets.

Interesting stuff. I'm trying IPTV on my VU+ Duo currently. It's generally pretty good but the epg is limited in both content and functionality. I installed using the XtreamTV plugin. I also requested the optional xc Enigma2 plugin from the IPTV provider.

If I go Menu, Plugins, EPG-Importer, and the Sources (blue button) it offers a host of Rytec XMLTV options.

If I highlight and save Rytec UK XMLTV what will happen? It'd be great to be able record stuff for example. I'm a bit worried I'll make a mess of it tbh.

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks.

hi,

I need to be rocket scientist to make it work with my iptv list with over thousands of channels...

these vu+ boxes are old, no epg for iptv m3u streams in year 2017

i found that kodi is few years old too, so nothing is working..

I did pay a lot when solo2 come out, and now is for garbage, no IPTV support at all...

i think that we all will gonna change these boxes and never ever bought back vu+ .

I MUST SAY THAT IM USING VU+ BOXES FROM DAY ONE WHEN COME OUT, BUT EPG NEVER WORKED.. CROSSEPG, what is this? never worked and a lot of broken images before i realise that is better to live it alone and never touch it...

I too have been using Vu+ receivers for years.
Bit harsh to blame Vu+ for iptv related shortcomings really, afterall these boxes are primarily for sat/terrestrial/cable tv.
CrossEPG works very well for me for Sat and terrestrial channels, I wouldn't even bother using ANY epg for iptv.
You have to realize that the majority of iptv streams are only there for a short while because they are streamed through illegal means, so they change all the time.
To have a working EPG for these you would need to know the source of the country the stream is coming from to get the programming sequence. Then there is also the time difference to take into consideration.
Kodi is free and more and more of the world population is starting to use it. The providers realize they are starting to miss out on subscriptions so copyright crackdowns take a lot of apps of the market through the threat of legal percussions. Just last week Phoenix closed down.
If you want free iptv, you need to expect to work for it by keeping things updated manually.
Don't blame Vu+ for not supporting iptv.

hi, thanks for replay,

i have iptv from my local provider and i paying for it...
the reason that i'm using blackhole is, because i can seek forward or backward when watching iptv VOD source/movie etc..i can seek forward for 1/2/5 minutes ...with numbers 1/3 and 4/6 and 7/9..
openblackhole is based on openpli, so there is no seeking future...

just regular pvr/sat is not expensive, vu solo2 and duo2 is very expensive, but at the end is just like other non-expensive sat boxes

Why don't you ask your provider then for an epg?
it's their service you are paying for so why blame it on Vu+ ??

Having had many other non-expensive sat boxes myself in the past 15 years I can't agree with that.
None were as reliable or feature packed as the Vu+ boxes.
