External USB File copying TO Vu+

Obviously the solution is simple, but I cannot find it.
I can easily connect to box external disk (USB, 2 partitions 1 TB each) via network using all possible protocols - ssh, scp, ftp, Windows explorer. I can copy recorded videos FROM the box to PC. I can even create directories, create files and copy small files (like 1k) from my pc to box disk. But when I try to copy something bigger from PC to the box, even some jpegs or mp3, the process times out, and only files with zero value are created.
What am I doing wrong and what should I look for to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

First of all you must have mounted correctly your external USB disk partitions and next you can use FTP client (Filezilla is my preferred) to transfer your files from PC to Box using the /media/<mountname> folder as destination.

In the past I've transferred to my Duo2 approx. 1Gb of multimedia files to make some tests without problems but it's valid also for other Vu+ boxes I've in my home :)

Thanks!
Actually I have mounted both partitions as /media/usb1 and /media/usb2. Both are accessible via network in all possible ways, I can do remotely whatever I want - except copying big files from PC to them. Far manager says I have all rights except checking available volume size. Perhaps these are some specific permissions that I don't have? However, I connect as root so I should have all possible permissions.
I tried different ftp, scp and sftp clients, no difference.

2 partitions: what filesystem is used?
With root user you must have all the privileges on your box

If you use an USB stick or even USB HDD to store large files on it, you can transfer them (both ways) by connecting the stick directly to your PC and using a program Ext2IFS_1_11a.

Yes, thanks, I already do it this way. However, that would be good to use network.

If you are thinking about using your network to transfer files I recommend a wired connection which will give you a better speed.
