I assume it is the same in both slots, and even if you remove the other card

have not tried other slot as guessed it would be the same i will have a play when i get more time as going to work soon but worth a try. Just strange that it works fine on same settings on 1.6.6 and lower never had any problem till 1.6.7 came out oh and one more thing its only when the cards or card is running eg. they can be in the slots but not active and the box will run bbc-hd fine no freeze
anyways as i said thanks for you help guess its just one of them thing at lest i can still use a BH image so i happy

i have the same problem with my ultimo, the problems is thats this is happening from one day to other without changing anything in my box. i wakeup one day and the problem begin, now the story is that is only happens in a few members and nobody knows excatly with is the cause of the problem. we dont have any crash reports nothing to see wheer is the problem, so is even more worst.

In this thread we talk about Duo boxes and not Ultimo.
I think the problem you have is related to something added to Image. Retry with a clean image first ...

just a quick update to my problem with freezing EvO hit that nail on the head it was not my sky card but the other card in the box infact from the diff its made when i take it out on any image i think the card must have a fault but stopped freezing straight away 100% on all black hole images very very happy now thanks for all the help

My Vu+ Duo freeze again.
Image: BH 1.7.4.0
Settings: Setup --> System --> Fan control:
Fan basic action : Off
Use fan timer : Yes
Fan on duration time : 015
Fan off duration time : 050
Blue panel --> Extra settings --> Swap File Settings:
Swap place : USB
Swap Size : 256 M
Status : Active
My box freeze is a 4 days or so.
Box freeze only is standby mode.
Next freeze randomly inside of two days. (Only box in standby mode)
With BH 1.6.6 image and equal settings box no freeze.

I think the problem not exists.
If the box hang when the fan is OFF ... you can have temperature problem into your box and it stop working to avoid other big problems.
Into my boxes I've enabled the fan to be ON into standby to maintain a good temperature and I haven't hangs or similar issues.

I've used the 3.1.1 kernel from 1.6.7 images and none of my boxes has the problems you have explained with or without fan ON.
Are you sure your box is genuine?
How long testing with fan timer?
