hi eargon ,no defo not a fake ,gonna try flashing from null modem and see if it works

All i need are a copy of usr/share/enigma2/ if anyone with a solo 2 could pls copy their files and send them to me pls i would greatly appreciate it

Picon or anything else has no impact on flash new image.

You got a problem with your USB stick
if he is correctly formatted and image files on it
So try another USB stick.

Thanks everyone for your help it's all sorted now, was a problem with the picon not allowing the update to come up on lcd the USB was fine as it's the one dedicated to the box, when I turned the power on I gave it a sec b4 pressing power it wouldn't activate the upgrade but a fella from vu said hold the power button then switch the power on at the back and hey presto it upgraded, I won't be deleting any files from enigma again or downloading picon for ultimo lol
