Howto share your Windows 7 hdd/movie folder with your VU box

I Have the solution for you !! A f.cking bug in win 7 !! Im really angry with this...WHY don't Microsoft do a patch ??

But do this ONLY if you know that you are doing !! If you do the selected actions then Voila :) everythings gonna be fine !! Did this thing to my brothers computer a few days ago.
Just remember to REBOOT your computer when you are done !!

Hello, is the procedure(s) mentioned earlier also valid for Windows XP?
If it is different, should I create a new thread for my case or can anyone give me some specific advice here?
 
I'm on Windows 7 x64 Having problem with this, Ive scanned entire network to find all accessible devices, My PC is showing However it wont expand & the mount-point's Ive created have the small drive icon crossed out in red?

Any help appreciated

Hi I basically did as Wendy on page 1 states. it now works fine. I also added the new user i created, to the share permissions options on the PC drive i wanted to share.

SRT subtitle file must have the same name of your media file (except for the extension of course).
Next, enable subtitle during play via Audio Button -> yellow button

Hi all, I have managed to make the mountpoint correctly. But have a problem. When I go to Media Player, directory appears, that's ok, but then no film appears inside (obviously there are films inside in my pc). Someone know what can be happening?

HI all. Complete newbie here. I followed all the procedures above, mounts are showing, permissions granted, but nothing shows up when opening media player. When I press the button next to the menu I get a message "No tags are set on these movies". Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

maybe its because i entered:
Server share = /vu

But when i go yo the folder on my PC it says
VU properties--> sharing Network path \\name-pc\vu

Cant find a backslash \ on blackhole so impossible to enter!

Any thoughts??

i did evrything similar to the instructions but 1- the hard disc has a red cross on it in the mount manager
2- i didn't find a backward slash oh the remote (the pc gives the share name with a backward slash
 
Can anyone help me please?

I am mounting the folder and the mountpoint management is showing the laptop with the ip and the gree tick.

However trying media player only shows the internal directory structure and not the laptop folder.

Any help please? Running windows 10
