Image corruption BH 1.7.5 after forced Deepstandby

I programmed HDMI-CEC to command my UNO to go into Deepstandby when the TV would be doing a Power-OFF. Seemed a nice way of working and functioned as expected.

Some bad day however, I was using my UNO to play some MP3 music using Media Player. Obviously I used my AMP to produce the sound and did not want the TV screen to remain on.
I just instinctivily hit the TV Power-OFF button. Big mistake as the UNO shutdown instantaneously and worse the box failed to re-boot afterwards permanently. It got stuck at booting prior to produce any screen image. Did not give a good feeling!

To solve the problem I re-flashed the box with BH 1.7.6 after which it came up again. But the HD was gone now. After a manual mount also the HD came up again.

Of course I won't put in the auto-shutdown via HDMI-CEC anymore. You are warned!

It seems strange to problem is this.
Maybe, when you have time, you can try once again if it happens again. :D
So we will be sure the problem is that. :D

I am pretty sure about this. When you hit TV-Power Off with HDMI-CEC programmed for SHUTDOWN then the box instanteously shuts down. This probably without stopping any running plugin which is using the disk first. That is the potential root cause. Can't this be checked?
I don't want to try this too often, as the disk can get corrupted easily. I would need to make a full backup first at least.

Considering that i can switch TV ON/OFF using Vuplus remote, I would program the plugin HDMI CEC this way:

VU+ ON --> TV NOTHING (otherwise your TV would turn on even on
TV ON --> VU+ ON (if u like so, I usually turn tv only to watch sat.....:p) otherwise NOTHING
VU+ OFF --> TV OFF
TV OFF --> NOTHING

Avoiding it is not a problem. Living without the feature is neither a problem. It was more meant to be a warning as the effect was nasty to say it mildly.

I do suggest though one of the two options as the follow-up action to the design team:
- Remove the deepstandby option from the HDMI-CEC menu
- Make shure that all applications are closed in a clean way before doing a shutdown
The first one is the easiest and the second one the best as it probably can happen also doing a shutdown manually using the remote control.

Can you tell me if you have the same problem if you have a power blackout?

A power cut can have nasty effects on any running OS. That is the reason professional installations use an UPS to give time for an automated clean switch down during a power failure. I am not going to experiment with this as it probably will have the same effect. If exactly the same will occur each time is doubtful. Results are unpredictable as with the Instanteneous Deepstandby enforced by HDMI-CEC.
Workaround: Don't use it if any Drive has been mounted. Probably not a problem without one but who has not installed something?
