Take a look at your AV Settings - You can adjust the brightness of yor LCD Display ... and turn it off ... if you adjust all to left.

Down in AV Setttings ---> you have this:

Brightness
and
Sharpness

Has you changed the AV Settings as i told?

I don't exactly understand what you mean with "milky", but the VFD display has a glowing effect by design.

Inside LCD4Config.zip file, attached on that post there is two skin_user.xml files configuration, regarding to VFD Display, read the entire post and act as i say on it!

Choose the best for you, because the configs are very different.

iv renamed the vfd file like u say now what iv got the lcd working great file regards simon
