New poll: Which unofficial image do you prefer ?

I'm quite surprised VIX is so low. I'd have thought it would be the number 1 image (after blackhole obviously). It's my favourite image, the EPG is second to none.
 
Black Hole is very good and my preferred platform.

Drawbacks I see:
- Some upgrades were disruptive (2.0 was the most recent one): Only a full manual rebuild inclusive all bouquets got me a 100% stable image again. It seemed to work without doing so at first glance, but it did not turn out 100% stable afterwards. Tried all suggested methods with windows tools available to save/restore at least my bouquets.
- It is complex with multiple configuration options you really need to understand (formats, mounts, universes, picons etc). Specifically running out of flash is pretty dangerous. Not suitable for the less-technical owners as the result.
- The strategy of building on top of the official image has its effects on ease of use. See also the previous point. Amongst others you have to look in multiple places for options and features. It also locks out (popular) features found on other images.
 
very hard to say at the moment i use to like blackhole it was the best but it WAS that meens its not anymore
i have the vu-duo and the blackhole is strting to get very very unstable i have to reset the receiver constantly and thats no fun because its in the bedroom

i wanted to update the blackhole but i reed that the latest also have unstable problems so i think i will try the vix and see if that one is stable
if not i will return to an older version of blackhole because they where always stable :(

You didn't write which version, model of box, updated or not, plugins installed, so it's difficult to say why isn't stable. Please, help us to make it better and report these informations. :thanks:.
 
For me BH today is very stable including several plugins installed. The only exception for me is the "open uitzending gemist" plugin which is very useful for the Dutch fans. I have an occasional lock on that one forcing a GUI restart.

Still running on BH 2.0.1 rev-A as there was nothing I really needed on BH 2.0.2
 
I prefer PBnigma with the customizable skin (using a corresponding plugin) MyMetrix HD. It has lots of working plugins, fast and stable enough.

for me you have only to know the steps of use :i am sure you will enjoy black hole 2.0.3
 
Hi!
I used almost all the images, and I filtered three major images
BH, VTI and OpenPLi.
I learned later that conclusion:
OpenPLi:
Full of resources, it is intended for those uses Enigma2 in general.
VTI:
Full of resources also for the owner of vuplus but there are skins that are used by the owners of the Dreambox.
BH:
The lightweight resources according to the needs of the user of this image, and I see independent in operation (I'm not saying this because I am a member of this forum, but this is strictly my point of view)

Finally, it is my opinion and I respect the opinions of other members
 
I have no choice but to run the image that works best for my area which is the United States. The Duo2 is my first VU+ receiver and I have enjoyed it very much.

VIX Is the main image I use now because the blind scan has been refined and it works on both C and Ku bands. Except for the blind scan and some other small issues, Black Hole would be my main image.

I appreciate the efforts of the Black Hole Team. No other image that I know of has drivers for ATSC USB devices. Keep up the good work and please fix the blind scan in Black Hole images if possible. EB

io non chiedevo nessun supporto per dm 500hd volevo rispondere in merito alle immagini d'atto che io le uso sia sul mio vu solo 2 ed anche sul dm 500hd pertanto volevo solo presentare la bontà delle immagini senza nessuna intenzione di fare pubblicità ad altre marche,chiedo scusa se oh sbagliato.

Tranquillo, il mio voleva essere solo un memorandum non certo una qualche altra cosa nei tuoi confronti :)
