Please help, assistance required VU+Duo2.

BigRed

Vu+ Newbie
Hi Guys,
I am in desperate need of help. I recently purchased a VU+Duo2 with 4 tuners. To replace my wifes Humax Foxsat and my HD Skybox. All good, no issues. Installed a 2Tb WD20EARX HDD, great.
I would like to get used to the box first before I attempt to delve into it's inner depths and see what it can do.
Basically I would like to watch / record FTA channels with a simple channel list to make things easy to operate, the simpler the better.
I have tried to download a Black Hole image 2.0.9.1 onto a 256Mb stick and flash it onto the box, with no success. I followed the instructions, everything seemed to be going OK, but there was no differene.
The box is currently running the following:
Version: Sept13 2013-VUplus_experimental_factory
Image: Experimental 2013-09-13
Front processor version: 0
Detected NIMS:

Any help will be much appreciated, thanks.

Does the box shoe "CFE V2 ..." after cold start? Paolino (or an other peson better informed than me) could it be, that BigRed has to update the bootloader at first, because the image in his box indicates an older box?
BigRed, follow the instructions exaktly, as specified especially for the DUO2:
I'll give a step by step instruction, based on the instructions mentioned by Paolino.
(important: remove all other usb sticks from the unit befor update)
1st step: Power Off by switch at rear side of unit, wait 10 s.
2nd step: put stick with the expanded image into usb port at front (i use an old FAT32 4GB stick)
3rd step: Power On by the switch at rear side of unit
4th step: after seeing something like "update, press power button" press power button at the front to the left of the cam slots
5th step: wait while something like "reading ... update ... flash" is shown in the display until the box will boot and shows the message from the 4th step again (because the stick with image is still in the usb port)
6th step: remove the usb stick. The box is booting the new image
7th step: configuration of the new image (later, when updating in the family of images e.g. BH 2.9.0.1 to BH 2.10.0 you can use the personal backup function for saving and after update restoring the configuration)

Thanks both, my problems was: I had to partition a 8gb USB to 2Gb sections before it would read, tried several sticks all formatted to FAT32, but none wanted to work.
Black hole looks good, now to set up a channel list.
Thanks again.
