Problem with AverTV Volar HD

Hi All,

I have been using a Sundtek Media Pro stick and want to switch to a BH supported device so I can have 2 usb tuners.
So I bought an AverTV Volar HD, Model number A385. I installed the BH drivers from the USB Tuner panel, and the device is recognised and working correctly.
However when I do a scan, I get 0 service found. I have configured the tuner correctly, I live in Ireland.
I then plugged back the Sundtek, rescan and all services are found.
I need some help figuring out why I get 0 service with the AvertV Volar HD.

Thanks for the help.

Hi guys,

I verified the Stick I bought was not faulty by connecting it to Win7 with Media Center and all channels are detected.
Anyone has any idea why it doesn't work on the DUO? I have tried all the drivers available for AverTV in the image and same result with each.

Need help!!!

Thanks!!

There's nothing wrong with your tuner other than the fact that it's not supported by BH thus not allowing to install another BH supported tuner (as a 4th tuner). We are waiting for Angelo to implement BH drivers for your devices but I guess he's proably busy.

Thanks

Well, I just flashed from scratch with 1.6.5 and still 0 services found. Are those Aver Volar HD sticks pieces of shit???

Thanks

In case someone can test our Sundtek devices with BH, it might work now. Another user contacted us and we discovered some wrong detection of our tuner with it - which is fixed now.

Hi sundtek,

I updated the Sundtek drivers to the latest I think. To so so I use enigma2-plugin-drivers-vuduousbsundtek_20100924-r1_mipsel.ipk which connects to your server and hopefully downloads the latest version. Can you confirm this is the correct way?
I am installing on BH 1.6.5 and I don't see the Sundtek Media Pro in devices Manager so I am not sure the new drivers make it seen by BH image. That is unless I am not installing the drivers correctly, stick works perfectly btw.

Thanks!

The device manager seems to show up storage devices but not other USB devices, our stick of course is no storage device.
You should just see it in the tuner setup if it shows up as a second or third tuner it's just okay.

Thanks, I have always seen it correctly in the tuner setup, however it doesn't show in BH USB tuner so I don't think it's detected by BH.
Can you confirm how to correctly install your drivers and if the steps in my post are correct?

Thanks

please post your work a round if you get it to work with Sundtek. I tried couple times different things, i didn't get Sundtek + AF9015 based stick to work together, both works separately. Changed image to OpenPli and it did work right away, now i got Sundtek as DVB-C and AF9015 based stick as DVB-T.

Magic with OpenPLi was sundtek.conf with line vtuner_skip0=vtuner0
I do not have a clue if i did same things with BH that with OpenPli :)
First i did install Sundtek with their sundtek_installer_development.sh
installer -> reboot -> installed drivers for AF9015 -> created sundtek.conf with echo "vtuner_skip0=vtuner0" > /etc/sundtek.conf -> reboot and that was it.

echo "vtuner_skip0=vtuner0" > /etc/sundtek.conf

where 0 is ZERO (it looks like an o like On here)
Also be sure you installed the latest driver and not something old from our side.

Changed back BH images and it does work :)

You need to update our driver, after driver installation you have to replug the device in order to activate the new firmware.

We do not have any settopbox dependencies anymore in our driver, it's completely generic now.

Any further settopboxupdates are now covered by the driver - so it's more or less future proof now.
