Rf.modulator makes high pitched sound

Vu+ Newbie
Can anyone please help me, I've got a vu duo 2 plus box. I have a rf modulator which I intend to use for TV upstairs bit when I turn modulator on it makes a high pitched whining noise ??? I bough a brand new one to se if it was a faulty one bit this also does the same, can anyone help me please or let me know a different alternative to rig my TV upstairs to the same box, thankyou.
 
What is the make and model number of the rf modulator?
Have you considered getting another receiver such as the Vu+ Zero? You could use it as a partner box for the Duo2.
 
Sorry late reply but thanks to all who helped I work away that's all, what do you mean when tuning tv in upstairs put it on I ? Not sure I follow. Modulator still make the high pitched noise when turned on I've also plugged it into did play and still same high pitched squeeling ??? Drives the cat mad lol
