Upgrade from 1.x to 2.0.x without loose settings

I'm a newbie in this sat/unix/receiver world, and i want to know if i can upgrade from a 1.x BH image to a 2.0.x without loose mi settings, plugins and **** defs.

Please be specific , from what virgin of BH U need to upgrade to!
Plus Settings Back Up is always possible!
