Vu+Duo it's a great box but the correct question is: what do you want to do with it? What are your needs in terms of satellite receiver?

i used many boxes over the years and i know what they can do,i was thinking of the vu duo because of the good backup and i can use my 3.5" harddrive,i was looking at some reviews on vu duo2 and is there some problems about them over heating

I've had no overheating issue on my duo2 but I do live in UK ;)

My Duo2 equipped with a 3,5" HDD has no problem of heating.

sorry i only read this on reviews, just need to kown what one is best to get and why, never had a vu before, thanks

Duo one is a good box ... But it does suffer from lack of flash space... Much better to go for solo2 or duo2

Well the flagship is the duo2... Solo2 is more or less the duos replacement with regards to its price bracket. Have a look on vuplus.com for specs

Theyre all good boxes though really... I've had duo and duo2 and a friend has a solo2

thanks mito, the duo2 is out of my price bracket, thought the vu duo would my job or is it on the way out, looking at the solo2 now
