Hi,

I took a full backup of my vu solo on a flash drive, inserted in a brand new vu solo to have same settings but nothing is comming on display and the led is green. (blackhole 1.7.8)

Tried putting several other images like vix and even tried a clone safe image but problem still persisted.
now i am trying to put the drivers cfe_solo_2.0 but when i am restarting the box it is not booting from the flash drive it just stays green.

any ideas ?

I suspect you have a clone box.
We don't allow and support any kind of questions about these kind of boxes.

Attached there is a picture of the decoder. can you please confirm if its a clone or not ? since i've just got it and paid for a genuine one. if thats the case I will return it.

my problem is that when I put the cfe or any image on the flash drive and reboot the vu (from the button at the back) the vu doesnt seem to be booting from the usb and goes straight to green solid light.

I can confirm that the flash drive is ok as I tested it with my other vu solo and it is working ok.

I also tried using vu+ util but it gave an error on tftp something...

I also tried leaving the decoder switched off without anything connected to it for approx 1hour (read on the internet that might help) but still nothing :S

p.s. forgot to mention that checked with scart cable but still nothing. (sry couldnt edit post)

is there a way to transfer via just serial cable? (and avoid using network)

I tried updating the boot loader by putting it into the flash drive but still it wouldnt boot from usb :S

I know how to update the cfe_solo_2., and I'm doing as there is written but when I insert the usb stick in the vu (tried both front and rear usbs) and restart from the switch at the back it just goes to steady green light (as if there was no usbs plugged int)

Did box work on original image before you tried updating?
You are saying the box doesn't recognise the usb try another even though it works on the other solo.

I didnt let it to boot when I bought it I immediately put in the usb and flashed it

just tried with another flash drive both formatted fat and fat32 same problem :S

but if it would succeed in installing the CFE the green light would be flashing not static green.

yes tried installing image.

Tried with vu util but was giving an error tftp something,

never mind contacted supplier and will replace it.

thanks everyone for their feedback

Maybe you should let the new box boot to check it is operating properly before you go ahead and try to flash. It should save you a lot of time and effort in the long run.
