Vu+ solo2 wifi connection

Hi all,
First of all I'm am totally new to all this and don't have much knowledge about Linux, vix or blackhole.
I have just got myself a solo2 which came with VIX image pre installed.
I can only connect to the internet via mobile hotspot as I am only able to achieve 3mbs via normal broadband connection as oppose to 20+ with my mobile.
My problem is this, I couldn't connect to the internet via USB dongle as the box didn't have the plugin installed so I bought a wifi bridge and managed to get online.
However, when I am watching any sly channels there is a stutter every 5-10 seconds, almost as if it is streaming, which of course it's not but if I watch a film via 1channel, it streams without problem.
I'm baffled as to what the problem could be, I also have a USB dongle, I downloaded the wifi plugin and it shows in the network set up menu, when I configure it, my phone shows that the box is connected but the box says not connected to internet which is also baffling me.
Any help would be appreciated.
Also just out of curiosity, what is the difference between blackhole and vix?
Many thanks in advance and please forgive me if I sound like a buffoon!

You should specify what WIFI dongle you have bought and if it's already supported by your firmware in the Vu+ Solo2 box.
About Vix and Black Hole: both are third party firmware for Vu+ Solo2 box. Both are advantages and disadvantages: you should try both softwares and take a one of them or another one. It's a very personal decision.

Hi Angel and thanks for your response.
I actually have 2 dongles, both are from my old skybox f5s, one is an official skybox dongle and the other is an unofficial antenna type dongle and actually that's the only one that will even allow the WLAN option to appear in the network menu.
I am connected and watching via a wifi bridge so the wifi dongle thing is just a bug more than anything, what I would really like some help with is the stuttering, is this normal with a wifi connection or will it be because the source is a mobile phone hotspot?
Depending on the time of day I can get over 20mbs but in peak periods sometimes less than 1mbs but this doesn't have any affect on the stuttering, it's the same all the time.
Thanks
