I have a 90cm dish on my ultimo and signal strength is fantastic 99% on hotbird and never broken up even on weak satellites you need a quality LNB with this receiver the tuners have no problems.
Have you tried replacing the lnb ? is it an inverto if so try a invacom.Having almost identical problem, but with a dvb-c vu+ uno receiver. Same tuners as in ultimo ?
Have 2 dm receivers that has no problems. 99% signal, Agc around 30% and 0 ber.
But with my Uno have around 65-69% signal, agc around 75 and high ber rates. Replaced the tuner to a new one, same problem. Then changed receiver to a completely new one and same problem. Tried a lots of different cables and same cables as the dm receivers but no difference.
Can this be the same problem that you gous discovered ? Manufacture problems with the tuners ?
Tried all kind of images that is out there, with same results.
Here new duo 2 will be out .Just wonder if there will be same (cr*p) tuners to keep manufacturer's costs down to make more profitHi,
sorry forgot to mention that de drop I refer to is compared to the old VANTAGE 8000S receiver. I know tuners have different performance/sensitivity, but a drop in almost 20% on many channel simply is not justified!
Hi guys,
thanks for your responses. I have been away for a while, but now I've read your comments.
Indeed these comparisons (between different receivers) are not always "fair", BUT I still believe, also based on what I've read in several places, that perhaps the LNB might be the culprit in this particular case. I have an Inverto Black Ultra twin LNB and perhaps I will make a switch to another LNB to see what happens..... Will let you know.
Anyone have tried the SHARP models - recommendable? Or better to go with Invacom?
Regards
