HOWTO UPGRADE FROM 2.0.2 TO 2.0.3 SAVING ALL YOUR SETTINGS

Yes, for instance:

Dreambox Edit for Windows
iDreamX for Mac

but I sometimes had some names not recognised switching from BH to OBH or viceversa. But the settings are saved and, in case this happens, everything gets sorted out just by rescanning the services.
So the bouquets are already there and the channels in the same order.

Thanks for your reply. I have a Mac with iDreamX and ftp program, and I'm mainly wanting to keep my stored satellite positions, as it takes ages to go through the process again.

I'm not quite sure where the sat positions file(s) are stored.

You don't need to know (etc/enigma2, btw). You let iDreamX get the bouquets and save them in a folder. Then, when you'll connect to the new box, open them and send to the new stb.
Obviously, you have to tell iDreamX the IP of your box in order to have it working.

Don't worry: I've been using iDreamX since 2014 and it's perfect. It only lacks of numbering the channels within the bouquets. It does much more than just saving settings.

I didn't have any success after saving bouquets and transferring to new box all I got was a lot of empty folders and a message saying tuner not configured, which I was hoping to avoid.

Managed to fix the problem using ftp, transferred files previously saved in iDreamX. In iDreamX the bouquets had transferred okay, but the sat positions/tuner config files hadn't updated. After a restart all was good again, saved a lot of time.

As I said, sometimes you have your bouquets but with no names. Performing a manual scan of channels (which does not affect the bouquets) you always have, in case, your bouquets correctly showing their channels.
Which version of iDreamX are you using? I hope not a 2.x: this would explain the issue.
The last is 3.0.18.
Check, also, if in the software preferences about bouquets the item "Use file "satellites.xml" is ON.

Ok, now lets open a can of worms (which may well be open elsewhere - in which case; a link would be welcome ).

I have been using Black Hole (on Solo SE v2), generally happy with it, and don't have lots of time for playing.
Top three reasons for changing to Open BH?

  1. ?? OPen BH updates itself??
  2. ?
  3. ?

Discuss :thanks:

P.S. Is going back from Open BH to BH reasonably straightforward?

Yes. Obviously, you'll have a clean image and you'll have to reinstall every plugins. You can save only your settings (channels and bouquets).
