Here is my .xml file.
Is the second "widget" line.

P.S. don't forget to back-up the original .xml file before you upload this one.

Thank m8 .
But I must admit it looks damn good.

If you want to test scrolling text on VU Ultimo you can use this render to test.
But i think it is absolutely wrong because it destroy performances.

1) Unzip file
2) upload in usr/lib/enigma2/python/Components/Renderer/
3) edit skin_user.xml and change the line of the channel name in something like this
Code:
<widget source="session.CurrentService" render="ChNameRoller" position="0,13" size="400,40" font="VFD;20" halign="center" valign="center" noWrap="1">
            <convert type="ServiceName">Name</convert>
        </widget>

But is not good in my opinion.

Thank you.

I've tested it but the lay-ut is on the wrong section of the screen.
I used it for the "event name" and it scrolls but it comes on top of the "channel name"
The position in.xml file is set at 0,48 ( max 0,64 )

Thank you for all the hard work you are putting into this guys - it is much appreciated. I should have my Ultimo tomorrow so looking forward to giving my input too.

As a matter of interest, what are you all using to edit your .xml files?

Best regards, Mark

You can use Wordpad or TextEdit if you use a Mac!

Forget roller
Very bad and big influd on the image performance.
I do not believe we will use it within the image.

That is a real shame, as I think it is something alot of users will like to use (even for short time when they first get there ultimo).

Is there no way to have it as an option to turn on and off so if user decide to slow performance down it is there choice ?

This kind of roller is bad and to not used. Maybe Vu+ will implement something better in future. It is better to wait.
Anyway i think is not good to have text moving in lcd during watch tv.

Best solution imo would be to display picon for channel name along with program and if there is no picon then display channel name in text...

having both text and a picon image is a bit overkill!

I agree scrolling text is distracting while watching TV so it could maybe be done once and then stop while you're on that channel!
