Duo / DuoLE Vu-duo is Dead

Many duos have this problem now so how does one solve it after the fix ? Use it without HDD ? OR COOL IT DOWN MORE

hi
when i turn off my Vu+ Due from behind and turn it on there is no problem, but when leave it off for about 1 hour and more it takes 4-15 minutes for red led to turn off and my vu+ says starting.
any suggestions?

I've got the same problem like sarab_h for few weeks. I can not start the box from remote, just to turn of and on the power. I thought it was my image(BH 1.7.0) corrupted so, I've downloaded B.H. 1.7.9, i put it on the stick and flashed the vu+uno. It says remove the stick and restart. I've did it and the it appeared the red led and nothing more. What did i do wrong? I have tried with vu utility and it stops at 20 percent. I tried with 4 different usb sticks without succsess. Should i try to change the capacitor? I am in the same situation like all the people above?

Use an 2,5" HDD with adaptor for 3,5" housing and let the fan on in standby. Box will be more cool.
Also check fan functionality very often, because when the fan is broken, there is no warning about its fault.

Unfortunately the electrical schema for the VU+Uno is not the same as VUDuo. There is already a capacitor with this value:330uF 50V but is not located where C807 is on the DUO. I don't know what to do.

I would like to warn you. It's absolutely not recommended to exchange any components of faulty PSU (power switching unit). You are risking your life, especially if you are not an expert. When the PSU is faulty it's recommended to change it to avoid other damages. I agree, that in 99% of cases the problem is a dry output capacitor, but 1% not. So be very carrefull!

Is the solution the same for Solo flashed with wrong bootloader, change C807? It has the same sympthom as the once in this thread, the red led and no boot.

ok, guys. i gave the same problem: my vu+ duo hand on "starting..."

this is my hyperterminal log:

count me to the list with red light of death
i will replace the cap with a new but searching on net i found that some guys replace it with 220mf/16v, matrix said 330mf/16v and some 330mf/25v
as i am not a electronic guy i am a little confused
which is the better solution ? i understand that 330mf/16v maybe is better but a little explain for the differnce in 16v vs 25v please

and thanks to all for this thread
