I've read Dreambox boxes are running DreamboxOS which is proprietary.BTW I have a question : Vu+ Uno 4K seems to me to be an improved Solo4K with a cheaper price
But is the tuner and FBC Twin Tuner DVB-S2 ? (because its name is "Uno"

I'm a Solo2 owner....but dreambox is a very good quality set-top boxes....
We are talking about the best brands: Dreambox and Vu+.
I ordered a Dreambox DM900 and I think made a good choice.....my decision was pending between dm900 and Uno 4K..... But for the HDD slot and good specifications, I decided for dm900.

Hi,
Just to tell that DM stop innovate since the DM800, all what they release after was just an evolution of the DM800.
When I say that they just released their first 4K receiver last mount and still no FCB tuners in 2016!!
I think that they will join Blackberry and Kodak club

I have a Solo4K did i need the FBC Tuners ? NO i did not
i have an Rotor and Fixed antenna on Astra / Hotbird
thats enough for me.Did i need the FBC Tuners for record multiple Channels ?
No i don´t caus all and everything is repeated until vomiting
Did i need FCC ? No i don´t cause it´s still,also after a lot Driver Updates,
buggy.
So all possible advantages are for me uninteresting
And to the end don´t forget
what can i do with a good hardware if the software can not do anything with it,remember
DM uses in the mine time OE 2.2 or the newer OE 2.5 what uses VU ?

Hi,
It's clear than it's not make sens to use FCB tuners with rotor ! maybe the advantages are uninteresting for you, but for me it's bring a real add value and better tv experiences
Have a look here on my SOLO 4K review what we can do with FCB in therm or recording and multichannel 7:30
Have a look here how zapping is instantly with FCB
And have a look here how such powerful hardware and FCB tuner allow me to access my Vu no matter where I'm in the world.

OE version is quite useless and cannot be used to refer anything. If I want, I can release an image that follow OE 10.1 ....
Enigma2 is quite the same thing: DM boxes uses the CLOSED VERSION of E2. Other brands the open source version that - I want to remember you - was closed officially by DM 4 YEARS AGO approx and every single brand updates as they want or the PLI open source implementation that had a very different story.

On the contrary, price and development of SCR LNB technology is increasing.
Prices are already now very affordable.
So what you really get with the old tuner concept and OE 2.5 ?
Several UHD channels and that's all.
The positive side of broadband tuners and with a good antenna installation and thus strong processors
it becomes a real home TV system for both TV and streaming.
If we talk about the media and Kodi.
My Chinese Android box for 20 euros 4K it works perfectly
Better than any E2 box and any version of enigma include OE 2.5
We waited for Goliath but he never gets there.
Perhaps lost in the desert.
Another important question is what will be the quality of those boxes.
Given the drastic drop in prices compared to earlier.
But buy perhaps I am mistaken.I do not know....

In order to use the full potential i need a unicable system so i have to spend another 40 to 60 Bucks for an Unicable LnB anyway....
Clear here is a VU Board so i expect no consent just as i expect in a Dream Board no agreement for VU Box.
i personal use booth Brands so i have no problem at all
My the Users should decide what kind of Box to buy
