Reboot your box and then post the output of "dmesg" command my friend.
I haven't this kind of device actually (it's near Milan now :( ) and I need all kind of infos possible to make it works :)

drivers should works for both versions of HVR900 but I need to study the errors located into your report. There are common errors and Google shows more people affected by same problem.... It's positive to find a fast solution :)
 
i have the latest version of bh.
linux tv shows that the device should work.
ill leave it with Angelo and hopefully you will get it working..

I've changed a little the driver for your device.
Please disable it, re-download, re-enable and perform the "dmesg" only output.

same here. downloaded driver 1h ago. zero services found with manual or automatic scan.
here it is my dmesg output. Looks like I have a R2 version.

Yes. You have R2 device with Micronas tuner. It's correctly detected.
I will try to make more debug messages to know there are the rpoblems.
 
I've modified the driver package.
Please re-install it from server (disable first the current tuner if it's active....) and re-post a "dmesg" output.

I disabled the old driver (EM28xx) and downloaded the "Haupauge HVR900 driver by Blackhole team.
I rebooted to activate and it was shown "working", though it still shows EM28xx and not Haupauge hvr9000?
Is there a way to clear the folder containing the downloaded drivers on the box,?

I too tried to scan but NO channels found.. I will upload a dmesg.
 
I have uploaded the new package for HVR900.

Test and report with a "dmesg" output only if the device now works or not... and SPECIFY the box you are using!

On my Uno the HVR900 works regularly: has found 311 services with the portable antenna :)
