Black Hole Vu+ Duo 1.7.5 "Multiple"

I have to upgrade a friend's Vu+Duo from rel. 1.6.6. As far as I can remember I don't have to upgrade the bootsrap file, is that correct?

And the most important question: he has a lot of recordings in his HDD. Do they will be available after the upgrade (since I red about some users problems about that matter).

thank you

Wronge.
From 1.6.6 to newer images you MUST upgrade bootloader.
About recordings, if you don't format ther HDD unit, the recs stay stored :)

It wold be nice you write that bootloader needs to be upgraded.
Eks.
If your upgrade fails, have you upgrade the bootloder?

If you have image before 1.66 you need to upgrade bootloader.

This should be written to every new image post as an reminder.
I did forget this myself when I tried to install latest image in a new box for a friend.

Could You (the Devs of this awesome image :) ) give an example how to Partition an 4 GB USB Stick? I think that i'll need 2 Partitions: /media/usb for picons and epg and /universe but i don't have any idea what size they should have. Maybe some other user could give his sugestions or experience?
Thx in advance for any answer:D

Well the size of partion is the users choices!
And it depends on the data you want to put in each USB!
Personally I use 8 giga,,,,and I find it to be more than enough,,,,less than 2 giga is used!

Do not be upset:) !

It is just an idea which may be good for U, but others think not!
And thank you for your recommendation!

Enjoy BH!

I think password protection would be a good feature, you know for us that have kids messing with the remote :)

great image, I have a 8 gig usb stick I want to partitions into two parts, I tried but failed, when given to options I part into 2 and then each partitions into 4 gig. When I go to Device manager I can see my partitioned USB stick, but they have not parted equally one is 0.007 gig and the other is 7.851 gig, I wanted to equal parts, please help, many thanks

I asked before but for future images could you add pin protection to be added. I would like to be able to pin protect my recorded video files

I think you inserted a wrong value into partition dimensions.
If you want insert 4Gb, you have to digit 4000.

that's exactly what I meant! ... password to prevent children from playing with the settings.
thank you

You have 2 options,,,!

1- Pratnal control.
2- Settings backup.

I use both,,and they are working fine!
