Just now I tested the new driver
i also have no problems in LCD Maininfo and Channel selection.
I doe not have any other text/graphic in LCD than the current.

No...when a message is displayed on the TV, eg. 'A recording has started' or my message warning from Cool TV Guide notifying me an upcoming timer has changed, this is when a reminant is left on screen...

Funnily enough, I just created an lcd picon for 28E (BBC 1 HD) and I now can't replicate the issue!! (before this picon_default.png was displayed)

I have a few recordings live at the minute so can't reboot and test again...I'll keep at it and report back!

I am almost 100% sure that you have put something in the image
that causes strange LCD behavior.

I've got Notice/message is displayed ,clean message is displayed
but it disappears after the second of two
and again I get clean Main infobar.
Only information channel and event ,picon etc is displayed (no MIX with last recording Notice/message )

because I have something else to test.
I could not find any error

Pls test with clean image + drivers and default skin
plus my last LCD files NO roller coding and NO LCD skins with roller.

I don't see the point of showing a picon *and* the channel name...a great majority of picons are just fancy channel names and consist mainly of text!

IMO its a lot less busy?

If there is a picon, just the picon displays....if there is no picon then just the standard text displays!

In my amendment...the time could also be moved up closer the to 'rec' graphic which would give even more room for the current program name!

In fact...here it is with the Event_Now taking up the full VFD and the time removed...

I hope I'm not polluting your thread....obviously at this stage of development there are plenty of ideas to toss about

Of course all the possibilities and options are possible.
It is a matter of decisions and compromises.
It is already known to me.

The aim of all is to start work on improving
The idea is to have more LCD creations
with the basic options
LCD with Picon and without
If a roller is working properly
then the options with roller.

That everyone can choose what he likes.
The same ,As with OSD TV skins.

So all are invited to work with their creations.
The biggest problem at the moment is that we not have
many picons for use in Ultimo display.
Most of it is made for a different size displ and not for all satellites
That's why I suggested size .

Now how they will be used with or without a channel name is less important
matter of choice

I've created a dozen picons and they're going to be much harder to get right...unfortunately what looks great on my computer screen needs *a lot* of tweaking for the Ultimo VFD!

If we could find 20 people for each sat happy to do 50 - 100 picons then we'd be laughing!!

I've created a dozen picons and they're going to be much harder to get right...unfortunately what looks great on my computer screen needs *a lot* of tweaking for the Ultimo VFD!

If we could find 20 people for each sat happy to do 50 - 100 picons then we'd be laughing!!

How long does it take you do make them, as it took me nearly 2 hours to make my BBC Onc HD picon, and it doesn't look as good as yours lol.

Just a few minutes! The problem is once you upload and check on the VFD a lot of them need redone as there is always something that doesn't look right! :-S (I used Photoshop and it does a fair bit of the work!)

I think I could manage 50 perfect ones in a day...Its finding a day right enough lol

Like I said it takes me about 2 hours and even then they don't work right.

If I get some time over the next few days I'll make an HD pack....TBH they're the only channels I really watch on 28E so I'd never have use for the 1000+ the sats cover!

This I made with different fonts and new picon ( 110x45 ) that I made for Digitalb provider.
About picons. It took me about 7 min to make one.

I don't know why it takes me so long to make them, when everyone else can do them in under 10 mins lol.

Here is the skin_user file with two fonts , and font file.

This is a test file to let you see that you can use different fonts on VFD.
As long as you FTP the fonts to : /usr/share/fonts
and adjust the skin_user file for specific fonts.
