External player in XBMC

Juste tried with some files on UPnP server and it looks good. Image and sound work fine now.

Now is time to change the subtitles font size, about 56 llooks good on 55" TV SET, you can do it on Subpport by pressing the Subtitles key on the remote control.

@nunigaia , thank you very much for your kind supports. I seem still have some confusion.
1. What is the relationship between the EMC and the mediaplayer (default Mediaplayer)? Independ or the mediaplayer is a part of the EMC?

2. According my understood, the mediaplayer 2 is an independed plugin which can replace the default mediaplayer. Is my understanding correct?

1 ) - Mediaplayer ( that i named classic ), is included on image by default. They are independent, you can perfectly uninstall ( by hand ) MEDIAPLAYER and install Enhanced Movie Center as your Default Player

1.1) - I have uninstalled Mediaplayer ( Classic ), installed MEDIAPLAYER2 and Subssupport, for XBMC and the same Subssuport for EMC that i have installed too ( to play local files on Vuplus Duo2 ).

2 . Yes, indeed!

Streams could be problematic regarding bandwith, and of course the number of users viewing the stream!
I´ve 120 Mb bandwith, mate. This could be why i´ve not freezing, or dued minus users connected, when i tested.

1) It´s for viewing game´s streaming. you can google for it and watch, don´t need to install, i´m not a lover of online games ( not for my age, lol ).
2) Xmbc works, but there is severall misses, like pvr addon ( as i know ). Better with Mediaplayer2, with it you´ll have support to subtitles ).
3) nothing at all. You are :welcome::thanks:

See you

thank you nunigaia for your work i already have mp2 installed. can i just install the Upgrade Beta 3 ( 07-04-2015) file or all of them. thank you.

sorry what is the
ttf-ubuntu-sans_0.80-r1_all.ipk

does that need to go in the stb vu bh 2.1.5.

1) -> Yes you can ... install to both python ( files ). the Mediaplayer plugin don´t need to install, cause is the same version from 20-03-2015 ( v.059)

2) -> ttf-ubuntu-sans ... are fonts for handling subtitles, the subssuport plugin use this fonts --> if not installed ... i´t will regular fonts!

best regards
nunigaia

Thanks @nunigaia for your kind supports and tutorial. I just miss a few days from this community and sorry for the delaying of reply. I will certainly to try the new player

Hi, @nunigaia , I just ready to install the Mediaplayer 2. I have read your tutorial about the installation. However, I still have some questions.

1. If I install the Mediaplayer 2, Can I still keep the EMC in my receiver without uninstall it?

2. I plan to install the latest version Mediaplayer 2( Ver 0.59) and Sub ssupport (Ver 1.52, beta 3) (the 5 ipk files). Do I need to install (copy) the plugin.py to the folder of XBMC as your mentioned in the tutorial? What the python-difflib ..... is?

3. Regarding to un-install the default classic mediaplayer, you use Dream control tool, when selected the mediaplayer folder, press the delete button to un-install the classic mediaplayer. What it means? It means 'delete the folder' or 'The dream tool will run a procedure to un-install the classic mediaplayer and modify related settings? Because I use a different FTP tool access my receiver, only can do delete.

4. Regarding the SSH/Telnet in your Fig 2 in the tutorial, the instuction says we should run 3 commands, opkg remove .... , What they are for? I have not install any mediaplayer2 yet, why I need to remove ? or The 3 commands just clean the file list of the package registration? Do I have to run them?

Sorry for so many questions.
