How to setup your Vu+ for recording on USB

I don't see problems to setup your NAS (a share of it) for recording purposes but I've never setted up it previously.

Everytime I try to mount that Synology NAS, when appear HDD replacement - yes.
When I come out, I don't find where is located the recording paths...

I think you should ename Expert mode into Menu -> Setup -> System -> Customize to see System complete menu.

hello, i have a problem: in last sammer i flashed black hole 2.0.9 and from this point i have problem to record on my usb/movie folder. the receiver records on receiver memory automatically: i would to change the recording path as described in this guide, but in "menu> Setup > Sytem" there isn't the voice "Recording Path" !! 
how can i solve this problem?

i did it, but i didn't reboot
now it is ok.
now i mounted the usb pendrive and the receiver records!!!

I have a Vu+Solo2 and would like to be able to records movies on an USB stick, but cannot even get into the "Blackhole device Manager".
If I press twice the blue botton I get a PIP (Pictuere in Picture). If I press the Blue button long, i get Select CCam .... Ccam209.
Can somebody help me to open the Device Manager ?

Further to above question :
in the bottom left corner of the screen is written : Open Pli.
But when I switch off the Vu+Solo2 (pull the cable out off the wall ...!) and restart, the first screen reads in big letters : BLACKHOLE.
I suppose Blackhole is an operating system as Windows Vista for a PC ..... But is OpenPli also an (equal) operating system ?
And how did I get into OpenPli - i do not remember having opted for ... OpenPli.
As a newbie, I would prefer now to stay in OpenPli and be able to record, in that OS, on my USB stick, ... instead of "flashing ?" Blackhole ....

I've let my Dreambox 800HD PVR receiver to format the USB stick, and saw during formatting the message about it being done in Linux format. After succesfuly completing the setting up to record on USB stick and recording my first programme - I can play it via recorder's Media Player, but not on my laptop or PC at work (both running Windows 7). Both say that the USB stick is not formatted. I suppose the same problem would occur if I used the external HDD connected via USB cable. So my question is - how to record on USB stick AND external HDD, and that the files can be later copied to the PC or laptop? And how big are these files? How many minutes or hrs can be saved on a 8 Gb or 16 Gb USB stick?
