Black Hole Vu+ Duo 1.6.7 kernel 3.1.1 beta

sure all vu+ owner will switch to the new one
but i prefer to wait the final release

thank you

OK

yes but this is already better than the old
Of course if you do have no problems with some DVB-T drivers ,disk e.t.c

who have not yet been made for the new kernel
and perhaps even some not solved problems in specific cases..

But the image is already faster and more stable than the old.
Besides that, for example, some WLAN sticks are now working with the new kernel
and with old not.

But of course it all depends on personal situation.

All in all, my impressions are that this is a much better kernel
and in principle we have the fastest image so far
at least for me.
It seems to me that all the basic works much better and easier.

If I have upgraded Boot Loder to use 1.6.6, do I need to upgrade it again? I guess no.
It may be posted a note about this in post #1

First of all i want to say a massive Thank You to this wonderful team and for the regular images that you provide us!
I want to switch from BH 1.6.6 to 1.6.7. Will BH personal backup from 1.6.6 work on 1.6.7? or do i have to install almost everything again( channel list, plugins..etc)

Personal backup will not work, I suggest you manually back up your settings and configs before you upgrade.

beautiful image ! good job guys!
but unfortunately, meoboot does not exist anymore in this version ( i tried to install it with success but no way to bootup on another image in multiboot..
is it because of the new kernel ? i like to try for fun other images ( like VTI 3.2 )
i hope there will be a way in the release version to use again meoboot and also a plugin to make a full backup of the image ...

As you thought it is because of the new kernel, at present there is no development of meoboot but I am not in a position to comment on what may happen in the future.

Thanks a lot guys!!!

Might be a stupid question but what about plugins such as CrossEPG, MyTube etc... do they need to be recoded for the Kernel?

Cheers

Most of them not - I test
Subtitle player
Crossepg
Multiquick button
etc
and they all working - I belive that 99% of plugins will be ok :)

I noticed several problems with new image.

I left VU+duo overnight, and this morning there was no audio on channels with AC3 audio. Restart fixed the problem.
Also noticed that after prolonged use some channels suddenly don't open (black screen) although everything seems to be in order, restart also fixes this issue.

thanks a lot for this image that looks really nice

a question before test it, a previous 1.6.6 image backup can be restored in the box if something doesn't works fine with the 1.6.7 beta?
better to ask before :)

thanks again for the new release

Meoboot is not suggested in this situation because you can install in multiboot old images who cannot work correctly with newest kernel or drivers or new E2.
I suggest to not use multiboot.

is there any danger to my Vu+ Duo to test Beta Version thank you

You cannot damage your box. If you don't like the new beta image, you can reflash the old one without problems.

Thanks for your report. Can be a driver issue. We make some tests and if the problem is reproductable we report to Vu+ quickly.
