So...i did some tests and got the following:

It recognizes PCTV 290e and i set it up as DVB-T (for Europe) or for DVB-C (for Europe) without any trouble.

But when i try to make an Automatic Scan i must do a "Restart Enigma2" first, otherwise it give an instant error when press to scan.

After "Restart Enigma2", it does the Automatic scan flawless.

About DVB-C, i didn´t tried yet, but i will try it on Saturday....then i will post heres the results.

Now about this "Restart Enigma2"....there is any way to work it around? Must do that allwas before an automatic scan?

Regards

sorry, tuner of course not driver.
and it's #58

Thank You......later when i get home i will try it. And will post here results.

Basically what's done is stoping USB Tuner service and than start it again.....

That's could be fixed in next BH releases, right?

PS: On saturday i will try this PCTV 290e with DVB-C signal and post heres results......that was great if it works.

Already tested it, and it works.

I left only the command to Start USB drivers. It's enough!

I hope this is fixed on next BH version.

On Saturday will do the last and most important test........looking for scanning channels on DVB-C signal with this PCTV 290e tuner.

Thank for you support and i will leave here feedback on Saturday.

OK, for me it was in state -"is already running" but of course dysfunctional. Therefor stop/start

And some people report my workaround not functional.
So I suppose it differ from enviroment to enviroment.
I still guess for timing issue and one parameter
is number/type of attached USB devices

curious about you "C" test looking forward

Tomorrow, or maybe today, i will leave feedback here.......

But i'm affraid, terrestrial.xml doesnt have all frequencies and bands for DVB-C......

But nothing like put hands on work!!!

See u later.

Don't know but aren't they kinda different ??

<transponder centre_frequency="490000000" bandwidth="0" constellation="3"/>
<transponder frequency="490000" symbol_rate="6875000" fec_inner="0" modulation="5" />

About that, should we have a file named "cable.xml" or the "terrestrial.xml" works for both DVB-C and DVB-T ?

Yes, i think they are different, but i will try......it got to work.

BH 2.0.9
PCTV T2 290e

Bad News :(

I made several tests, and got this:
1. Automatic scan didnt find any chanel with (Europe: DVB-C frequencies - Terrestrial.xml)
2. Automatic scan didnt find any chanel with (Europe: DVB-T frequencies - Terrestrial.xml)

My USB Tuner PCTV T2 is recognized in BH like a DVB-T tuner, but anyway can't get any chanel, and the antenna signal is good. Am i missing something?

There is any way to BH recognize PCTV T2 as DVB-C tuner?

Appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance

About Automatic Scan: I've never used it. I always used Manual Scan -> Type: complete and I suggest to use this solution for ALL DVB USB devices.
About PCTV 290e: I can make tests only when I get a new unit in my hands.
About DVB-C/DVB-T interoperability: we are working on it.

You will have a PCTV unit in near future, so you can test it?

I think this USB Tuner can handle DVB-T as DVB-C signals.......it's just a driver/firmware issue.

Actually, it is recognized as a DVB-T tunner, but it can be as DVB-C, for sure, because bottom board has Sony CXD2820R (DVB-T/T2/C demodulator).

Dont let PCTV 290e support die! :)

Best regards

UPDATE: We are getting better. :) yupiiiiiii

I made a Manual Scan (Complete), and get DVB-T chanels. Everything it's ok.

Then, i made the "Automatic" scan, and find all chanels again......so i dont understand why didnt found in first test i made.

In other hand, get no luck in DVB-C signal........i think this is about BH assume it's a DVB-T tunner........it must have an option to select if we want to work with it as DVB-C, or a DVB-T tuner.

And anyway, to find chanels in DVB-C signal, we must use "cables.xml" instead of "terrestrial.xml"....and "cables.xml" it's used in DVB-C tuners (not in DVB-T tuner as PCTV 290e is recognized in BH)

There is any way to BH recognize it as DVB-C tuner?

Thanks once more!!!

The tuner must be configured any way you change the mode from T to C: you can tune into only one mode (C or T) at a time.
Remember: every time you change mode you must change input cable in the tuner.
I suggest you looking at Duo2 User's Manual page 23 B and so on.

Yes, already see it, but that's for Vu+ Hybrid DVB-C/T tuner.

We are talking about USB DVB-T2/T/C tuner PCTV Nanostick (290e).

And i'm using a Vu+ SOLO2.

On this way, BH detects my PCTV 290e as a DVB-T tuner so, only can find terrestrial signals and frequencies.

I wanted to BH detect this USB tuner as a DVB-C and not as DVB-T.

Thank you!

As previously answered, the DVB change from T to C are under working by BH team.
I've a PCTV 290e but I've borrowed it to a friend.

Thank you. You may count on me for any test.

I'm ready for new developments!!!

Best Regards and Thank you once more!!

I've tested my PCTV 290e (1 unit connected directly to the box) with Vu+Ultimo and BH 2.0.9 and all works regularly.
Automatic Scan was not tested by me.
