I ask the seller a question regarding the tuner this what he replied

Hello,

I assume you want to hook that device to a Linux box in addition. Basically that works, as drivers for Linux are existing, nevertheless it requires maybe compilation of your Kernel etc.

So do you think I should take a chance and buy it?

I should have the drivers sources ... and test if they can be compiled for Mipsel arch.

And where can I get the driver sources for you do you can test them?
Or do you have them already or do I just ask the seller to email to me and pass them in to your slef,

I think drivers can be downloaded from manufacturer of the USB DVB device.

Found this have a look when you can

Could you please post a full "dmesg" output ?

Little update: some people @ LinuxTV.org website are working to support this kind of devices :)
I don't know the state-of-the-art but I will verify shortly if there is the possibility to use it on our boxes.

Could you please post a full "dmesg" output ?

Little update: some people @ LinuxTV.org website are working to support this kind of devices :)
I don't know the state-of-the-art but I will verify shortly if there is the possibility to use it on our boxes.
Any news on that USB DVB S2 device? Is it worth the gamble to buy it?

Some driver combinations are very unstable :(
My AC power for teVii is broken :( and I need to replace it before do some tests :(
You can try to use an external powered hub USB .... can be a power problem if you use the two rear ports for USB tuners.

Yep I think I may of mentioned this before but my USB ports don't respond to anything unless the devices have their own power supply that's an on going problem and I haven't got a clue how to fix it unless some one has an answer
So both S2 and DVBT tuners have their own power supply both it will only identify one at a time!
