By a software FTP or by telnet
create a folder named movie on your usb stick: /media/usb/movie

You should attach a crashlog to try to understand the cause of your issue.
You should find it in /media/hdd

Try to format your usb stick by your Solo2, then mount again it.
I try it but solo 2 crash when i put the usb stick. I have to put it in the pc first to format it and then solo 2 find it and format it.
Thanks for the help Mito but i wonder if someone have the same problem or only me.
The 3 usb stick i try it was 1)kingston 2gb 2)kingston 8gb 3)Toshiba 16gb
all with the same problem first to dm800se and now to solo 2 . With hdd no problem.
In solo 2 i use the kingston 2gb for picons and for cross epg with no problem.
If i record something and power off solo 2 and power on the solo 2 crash at logo.
If stanby all working good.

I had similar problem with my Vu Uno. Now solved the problem by pointing my Kingstom 16gb pen drive as HDD. Pen drive is not fast enough and I get a little picture break sometime, but works good enough. My box image is BH 2.0.3
